Sige na nga…

February 26, 2006

Okay fine, sige na nga mag-blog na din ako. Tutal andito na ‘to eh. And what am I to blog about? My photo gallery of course (Photo gallery). Mwahahaha, blatant self promotion.

Anyway, since I have three galleries there, I might as well take the time to talk about each one:

First gallery: While the 20th EDSA Anniversay Rally was Going On…

How apathetic of me to have been doing most of these pics while the masses were rallying just a five-minute walk away along Ayala Avenue. Then again, this happens every year… and the news was exaggerated… and GMA also might have arguably exaggerated with her declaration of a “State of Emergency”. So, with all the shit that’s happening in the country, doing this set in Greenbelt was a good means of escape: Flowers, ponds, ducks, the chapel - as if the world were once again sane, peaceful and serene. (I honestly didn’t know they had ducks there.)

My favorite from the set (photoshopped version):

Second gallery: The Tanenbaum Experiment

Tanenbaum is my little stuffed beanie dog toy (ok, that may not have been the right order of words, but you get it don’t you?) given by Mau sometime ago - I hope she doesn’t kill me for forgetting when. I have a terrible memory.

Anyway, I just played around with the dog a bit, and realized that I really need a tripod since most of these shots were taken with a 15s shutter speed (and 8.0 aperture) - good thing that my alternative was to simply place the camera on the table for a steady shot.

The nice thing about slow shutter speeds is that you can play around with them a lot - and that’s how shots 3, 4 and 5 in the gallery came about. My favorite from the gallery though is still the macro close-up. I just like Tanenbaum’s “expression”.

My favorite from the set:

Third gallery: The Wonders of Photoshop

I think the title says it all. I just wish I knew how to use Photoshop better… well, that’s what the internet is for :D

My attempt at being artsy-fartsy:
