Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

March 26, 2006

I’ve played four bowling games in the past three weeks. Two games three weeks ago, and then another two last friday (I skipped the playdate last week). My average was 132.5… but all of my scores were waaay far from that average. It’s as if two different people were bowling those four games.

In my first of those four games, I bowled a whopping 176, which I think is the highest I’ve ever scored! (Yay for me! :p) The game that immediately followed was a dismal 103, which if I may add, was only possible due to the turkey (three strikes in a row) I luckily got on the last frame. If not for that, I would’ve been on pace for barely 90! Ugh. Damn the law of averages.

Then last friday, after two weeks of not bowling, I thought I would get out of funk of my previous game. Right? Wrong. The result? An even more dismal 98! What the heck was up with that?

Determined to get out of that funk I was in, where I barely scored 100 on my last two games, I gutted up to bowl a game that would redeem myself…. Bingo. 153. :)

Four games and a 132.5 average… with no score even near that. What next? a 50 and then a 200? Not even Lamar Odom is more inconsistent than that.

I knew I was schizo.
