Always Look On the Bright Side of Life

May 31, 2007

…the perfect song for right now… and also possibly my top choice so far to play at my funeral…

Always Look On the Bright Side of Life
from Monty Python's "The Life of Brian"

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best…

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And…always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the light side of life…

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the right side of life…
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life…
Always look on the bright side of life…
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life…
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life…

Friends

May 30, 2007

No matter how down you are, you can always count on Friends to get your spirits back up.

(yeah, it works with both a capital "F" and a small "f")

If I Were A Grey’s Anatomy Screenwriter…

May 29, 2007

…here's how it will play out next season:

Burke is in-love with Christina but they are incompatible, they don't want the same things and he doesn't feel that Christina loves him as much as he loves her. He calls of the wedding. Christina breaks down. Burke goes away to put some space in between them and do some soul-searching. Christina realizes how much she really loves and wants to be with Burke, and this gets in the way of her work so she also goes away on a leave of absence. Burke realizes that in spite of all the differences and incompatibilities, he loves Christina and wants to marry her at least as much as when he proposed. Burke comes back to see that Christina has gone and then goes away again to find her. He finds her somehow and surprises her and they get married in an impromptu ceremony and come back to Seattle Grace as husband and wife.

Izzie is in-love with George. George is in denial about being in-love with Izzie because he also loves Callie and doesn't want to hurt her. Izzie will understand and be supportive of George, but will be totally heart-wrenched inside. However, Izzie will meet another guy and George will in-turn be supportive of Izzie. Then, as Izzie and the other guy start hitting it off romantically, George will start feeling jealous towards the other guy and he will realize that he wants Izzie in the same way Izzie wants him. Izzie will be torn between George and the other guy. George will be torn between Callie and Izzie. In the end, Callie realizes that George will not love her as much as he loves Izzie so she leaves him and Seattle Grace (in turn making Bailey the new chief resident). George feels guilty, but still engages in an affair with Izzie, which they keep secret from the rest.

Alex thinks he doesn't deserve someone as perfect as Eva, so he turns her away even as she tells him to give her a reason to stay. Alex comes to his senses later on (c/o Addison) and goes back to find Eva's room already vacated. He leaves Seattle Grace to chase Eva and her husband and eventually finds them. He tells Eva that he was wrong and he's giving her a reason to come back with him. Eva says no, citing that Alex was already given a chance and he already made the decision in spite of what she told him; and, she's already relegated herself to live the life she's been living before the accident. Alex starts the trip back to Seattle heartbroken. Eva's husband, realizing that Eva really loves Alex and that Eva never really loved him anyway, talks to Eva and convinces her to go and follow Alex. She chases Alex back only to find out that he's been involved in a road accident that's left him with amnesia.

Meredith will still have family issues now that her half-sister is also in Seattle Grace and Derek will still be clueless about his relationship with Meredith… and both of them will still be as boring as ever.

Hah. There! Eat your heart out Shonda Rhimes!

*reads back the entire entry*

Hahahaha. God that was mushy and corny and absurd, but I had to get it out of my system. Hahahaha.

EDIT:

*reads it back again 6 hours later*

LOL. I'm not even going to edit this.

Book Backlog

May 28, 2007

Before, it was just "So little time, so much music to listen to".

Now, it's also "So little time, so many books to read."

Buti nalang pwede ipagsabay ang music tsaka books.

Enter: My new interests - Kurt Vonnegut and Mark Z. Danielewski (actually, it's more of his debut novel "House of Leaves", which I saw today at Bibliarch for Php800+)

Damnit, I already have a huge book backlog (but now, at least, it's a book backlog that moves) and I'm tempted to buy "House of Leaves" just because it's the only copy I have seen of the book anywhere!

*grumble grumble*
