GA s04e05 - Haunt You Every Day
(start) There’s a reason surgeons learn to wield scalpels. We like to pretend we’re hard, cold scientists. We like to pretend we're fearless. But the truth is we become surgeons because somewhere deep down we think we can cut away that which haunts us. Weakness, frailty, death.

(end) It isn't just surgeons. I don't know anyone who isn't haunted by something or someone. And whether we try to slice the pain away with a scalpel or shove it in the back of a closet - our efforts usually fail. So the only way we can clear out the cobwebs is to turn a new page or put an old story to rest - finally, finally to rest.

Isn't it funny or weird that off the top of my head, I can't think of one thing that really haunts me? I can't; I seriously can't. Even when I look back at my 24 (almost 25) years on God's green grey earth, I can't pinpoint any part of my life that I would want to cut away because it haunts me.

Is this a good thing?

On one hand, it is, because I suppose it means that I've relatively had it easy in life. Not born-with-a-silver-spoon-in-my-mouth type of easy of course. Let's just say I haven't had it hard. Sure, I've gone through rough times, but I haven't had it hard. On the other hand though, it may not be a good thing since you could suggest that I wouldn't know how to handle such a life-shaking tragedy if it hits me. God forbid.

But I don't know… have I had it better or worse than most people out there? I've always felt like I've been mostly floating in between throughout my entire life.

Oh yeah, I just realized that there is one thing that haunts me…

13 hours of sleep, the big bang theory, and a new camera

November 6, 2007

I was on leave yesterday due to this godawful combination of terrible colds and a weird migraine (don't ask). So what do I do the whole day? I sit in front of the PC watching TV shows and playing DotA! (well played pao, well played. *patpats self on the back*) Needless to say, it didn't do anything good for my migraine or my colds. So at about 4 in the afternoon, I decided to do myself a bit of good and retreated to my room for a short nap.

I woke up at 5:30am the next day.  So much for a short nap.

Speaking of TV shows, Cami introduced me to this hilarious new comedy sitcom: The Big Bang Theory. Wikipedia describes it as "A comedy about two socially inept prodigies in their 20s who are living across the hall from a beautiful girl with a questionable intellect. When one genius falls for the girl, the other tries to discourage his interest because he believes his friend is chasing a dream he'll never catch." That doesn't sound too comedic though, so just go on and click these links below for a better idea:

Here are two of those sample vids :)

I want that periodic table of the chemical elements shower curtain! Come on people, let us embrace our inner geek/nerd!

I think I will settle for the K100D (Aida) kit package. K100D+kit lens+1GB SD card+Pentax DSLR camera bag for 27/28k doesn't sound bad at all. I'll just get this and go trippy with it, then I'll start hunting down those prime lenses >:-) I'll probably have this new cam by next weekend. Yay!
