moleskine
April 10, 2008i just can’t resist the urge. ever since i was a kid, i had this fascination for clean, pristine pieces of paper.
when i was in grade school, it was always a requirement that each student had to have four sets of pad paper: size 1 (the biggest pad - letter size i think), size 2 (a horizontally cut size 1), size 3 (a vertically cut size 1) and a size 4 (a quartered size 1). along with this arsenal of pads, parents would also provide their children with an array of notebooks. so you could just imagine how many untouched sets of paper i had at the start of the schoolyear. ^_^
i have no idea what it is about that, but it just made me want to write something… draw something… or just downright doodle. a clean piece starting me right in the face just called to me and i found it hard to resist.
anyway… fast forward to the future…
just yesterday, we were looking around in fully booked and i saw this set of beautiful notebooks - moleskine notebooks - and even though they were plastic-wrapped, one could just see that this was high-quality material right here: oilcloth-covered cardboard… acid-free paper… i don’t actually care that they claim that these were used by the likes of Picasso and Hemingway. it just looks purrrrty.
240 pages @ 13×21cm for php1000.00 is definitely overpriced, but i might pass it off as the occasional semi-luxury item. ^_^ hehe.
clean… purrty… pristine… untouched… i just want to write on it.
…
freud is gonna have a field day psychoanalyzing this one =p
