on lost (and found) wallets…
April 16, 2008I claimed my wallet this morning from the Grande Island office in Tektite in Ortigas. A guest of the resort found it inside the room and turned it over to the staff. Aside from some cards being misplaced (which I assume was only because they had to search the wallet for identification), everything was as it was. All the photos were there, the cash was untouched, and the cards were complete (although they’re already blocked). Good times. It’s a good feeling to have the wallet back.
Unfortunately, no info was given on where it was exactly found in the room; and, the resort couldn’t exactly divulge guest’s contact information. So to whoever found and returned the wallet: Thanks, god bless, and may good karma fall on you. ^_^
What bugs me is why we didn’t find it in the first place when we searched the place. We turned that room upside down looking for the wallet and we still didn’t find it.
Well, I guess things turn up like that sometimes. There really are times when you shouldn’t force the issue. If you force the issue too much, it just leaves you emptyhanded, frustrated and tired from exerting so much effort. Some people say good things come to those who wait. I guess that’s true.
…wait… I’m not exactly sure if I’m still talking about my lost (and found) wallet…

comme ci, comme ca
April 15, 2008I’m seriously so in-love with Starbucks’ Caramel Waffles right now. No kidding. Yesterday, I had around 4 of them (there’s 2 in each pack) - well, almost 4. The only reason I wasn’t able to finish the 4th one was because I was also drinking a White Chocolate Mocha… so it all ended up too sweet, even for me. But it seriously is heaven. \m/ A hot cup of coffee and caramel waffles (warmed on top of the coffee) is bliss.
BTW, on the pack of the waffles, it says there that you should let your waffles sit on top of your drink to warm the caramel. Me and mau were thinking if this scenario would ever take place.
Customer: Ano ba tong waffles ninyo ang panget, sinundan ko naman yung instruction, pinatong ko sa ibabaw ng drink ko!?
Barista: Sir, ano po ba ang drink ninyo?
Customer: Mocha frap!
(nyeh!!!!)
Hehehehe.

From food bits to exercise bits:
I’ve been wondering a lot lately if those calorie counters on the treadmill actually give an accurate reading. My brother told me that it would be more accurate if I plugged in my age and weight before I ran. So I started doing that last week. Before I started doing that, I was getting around 500 calories for 90 minutes on the treadmill (that’s running half the time and brisk walking half the time). After I started plugging in my age and weight, I got to 650 calories for the same time and effort on the treadmill.
Anyway, so I was wondering if that was accurate, so I googled "accurate treadmill calorie count" and as it turns out, the figure you see on the calorie counter is actually a good approximation. Of course it’s not perfect, but it’s not misleading as far as telling you how much calories you’re burning - especially on the newer machines, and especially if you input your age and weight.

Someone returned my wallet! w00t w00t! Andun pa kaya yung pera? Hey… people said asa pa akong makita pa yung wallet ko, and here it is now, more than a week after it got lost… I suppose I have the right to hope that the money is still there. But if it isn’t, it’s not a big loss. The cards have been replaced so those aren’t important anymore. But just knowing that I have the wallet back is a good feeling. Call me senti, but it is. Lalo pa may iilang pics dun ^_^

Just a quote I want to share and highlight right now:
"For those who believe, no explanations are necessary.
For those who don’t, no explanation will suffice."

with or without…
I love this song. Gentle, yet intense. It makes me calm and composed on the outside, but overflowing with emotions within. Like you just want to explode, but you’re held back by a necessary restraint…
With Or Without You
U2See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for youSleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without youWith or without you
With or without youThrough the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I’m waiting for youWith or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without youAnd you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself awayMy hands are tied
My body bruised, she’s got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to loseAnd you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself awayWith or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without youWith or without you
With or without you
I can’t live
With or without you
With or without you
